The New York Times has just written a wonderful article on Aloha Rag Staff favorite Alexander Wang. It speaks about his understanding of the fashion industry, his business (which is family run!) and also his knowledge of a women's form. All this, and the gentleman is only 25! Black Pupil Spotted at Art Basel...

Over the river and through the woods, to Art Basel Miami we went...

I jumped on a jet plane in search of some sunshine, good times, and to see what's going on in the art world. This year, Art Basel's main fair, and the locations of the other fairs were much more spread out. I decided to rented a scooter to get around town, and it became one of the major fun points of the trip!. The weather is perfect for riding and Miami is small enough that you never really have too far to scoot. Highlights included Brendan Fowler at Nada, Miami Beach in the early morning, The Standard's jacuzzi, Dave's cuban coffee & empanadas, Max Fish pop up, Jason Krause's glass box and the main fair. Here are some photos of art from the main fair by Sunny Shokrae. I can't wait till next year!

And I leave you with my favorite piece of the weekend... I don't know the artist's name, but this piece is sculpted in 3-D and all the figures that make up the image are super detailed!!! So good!

Kitsune Music...

As many of you know, one of our beloved brands here at Aloha Rag, Kitsune, is also an amazing music label. When Yoda comes back from his buying trip to Paris he always brings their new mix CD in to the store. The music is quite progressive, and usually has it's finger on the pulse of Paris's dance music scene. They have also created an iPhone app which lets you explore their clothing, and keeps you up to date with their musical releases. Rad! Check out a couple of songs off of their label that we are currently enjoying in the store.
